Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actor, singer, and model. Most famously, she is known for her role in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain as well as being the lead vocalist of Apollonia 6, a girl group. Apollonia, a singer/actress born to Prince in 1984 was one of the many female singers of the 1980s who benefited from Prince. The lead female character in Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance from 1984. Prince changed the girl's name during this time. She was replaced by Vanity by the female group Vanity 6 to perform in the film as Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity.
