Anamaria is a Romanian actress. Her debut on screen was through the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. She speaks fluently French, German English, and Romanian. Her father is a theater teacher at one of the country's highest-rated theater schools. The Young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. This film won several awards, including being awarded the European Film Award Best Actress given by the The London Film Critics. She was the lead in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 three weeks and 2 zile" (4 months, three weeks and Two Days) which won her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also won two awards in addition, the Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) and the Cinema Prize. Also, she was in The Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. The film was released in 2008. She starred as Yasim of Angwar in the BBC Five-episode Miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca had roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well the Romanian film Boogie. She later had a prominent role in the 2014 film Fury where she portrayed the role of a German woman who was named Irma Aunt of Emma.
